this could be the most incorrect mac rumors post ever. If you can't hear the drive spinning but you can hear the beep, it means you really shouldn't be using that drive. If it fixes it, then i am right, otherwise, your hard disk will probably overheat and dieĪnother quick way to rule out this crazy but true post of mine is to pick up your computer while it is sleeping and and making that beep sound and stick it to your ear to listen for the hard drive spinning Recommend restoring to a conventional hard disk to rule this outĪ mechanical 7200 rpm would be okay to try out

Mac goes to sleep, lowers power to SSHD and the SSHD starts chirping to tell you its not getting enough power. Other then SSHD i Never ever heard of a mac beeping when it is asleep. Below we are listing down some of the common MacBook Pro problems and their solutions. I have 4 seagate hybrid drives and i am well acquainted with the beeping sound A few such issues are accidental data loss, MacBook’s battery drainage, missing backups, failing logic board, and a few more. The beeping is a warning from the hard disk that it is not getting enough power.
